We’ve been an established CrossFit affiliate (CrossFit White Bear) since 2011 and our CrossFit classes are professionally programmed and ran by experienced CrossFit coaches. CrossFit classes focus on improving your strength and conditioning by using constantly varied movements that are athletic in nature and performed at high intensity. These classes aim to not only help you look better, but to be prepared for all the day has to offer! Classes are an hour in duration and include a warm-up, workout and additional after class mobility and accessory.
How To Get Started
The first step to getting ready for CrossFit is proper barbell movements as well as bodyweight and lightweight movements and at your pace conditioning training. With this in mind we require you to complete 4 Foundations classes in a week. Once you complete your 4 classes you will have unlimited access to CrossFit, SWEAT, Olympic Lifting, and Yoga! SWEAT at Bear Fitness is specific to a combination of Strength Training and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). The SWEAT classes are separated into three splits; Lower Body, Upper Body, and Total Body Conditioning. SWEAT uses a variety of training methods such as contrast training, push/pull training, and Time Under Tension training. This structure of training allows all clients to hit their individual fitness goals; strength, power, or endurance.
In addition to the classes, there are 4 workouts programmed that provide as an assessment tool in regards to your strength and endurance training. These workouts are used as a baseline for when you start SWEAT and to see with each 4-6 weeks how you have grown and where we have opportunities to tailor to help towards specific movements.”
The SWEAT community stands for motivation and support! SWEAT is suitable for all ability levels and there are no prerequisites to join!
What do you do in SWEAT? :
You will start with a 10 minute warm up that includes dynamic movements that are athletic in nature to improve flexibility and get you ready for the workout. You will receive instruction on the workout and model of movements. When it’s time to workout, depending on the day, you will be doing strength based movements for 20-25 minutes followed by 20-15 minutes of HIIT! Some days you will receive a 30-35 minute total body conditioning workout with 3-5 movements! You will cool down and spend your last 5-10 minutes doing static stretching and massaging your muscles.
SWEAT uses a wide variety of equipment every day! You will be challenged with dumbbells, wall balls, battle ropes, slam balls, SBT straps, barbells, bands, kettlebells, sandbags, and your own body weight! You will be challenged with every workout and leave with a sense of pride, excitement and say to yourself “I just did that!”
